Yes, the process is FREE and there are no hidden costs.

How do I sell my gold?

We buy directly from you using an open, safe and professional process. The condition of the item does not matter and the gold is tested and valued in front of you. Once the value has been determined, Gold Smart will offer you a cash price based on weight, carat and current market price. Download our Gold Buyers Selling Guide for more information.

How do you determine the value of my gold items?

The value of your gold is determined by three things – the weight, the carat and the current market price. Higher carats of jewellery contain more gold (e.g. 18ct has two times more gold than 9ct) and the heavier the total weight means more cash for you.

Why should I sell my gold and silver today?

There has never been a better time to sell unwanted or broken gold jewellery. Gold and silver prices are at record levels. Although the price of gold and silver is relatively stable, it does fluctuate depending on market conditions, and is affected by the New Zealand dollar (NZD) to the United States dollar (USD) exchange rate. Ultimately the best time to sell gold is a personal choice and unless you have an unusually large amount of gold it won’t matter too much. Predicting the price of gold and silver is very difficult even for the experts – the value of having cash today may outweigh the risk of trying to guess the peak of the market.

What is gold Smart looking to buy?

Gold in any condition, including gold jewellery (yellow gold, white gold, rose gold, etc), old gold, unwanted gold, scrap gold, broken gold, gold bullion, gold coins, diamonds, and silver. Click here to see more information on What We Buy.

What happens to the stones in the Jewellery?

Diamonds and precious stones have value and Gold Smart can purchase loose or set quality diamonds you wish to sell. Any precious stones or diamonds you don’t wish to sell can be removed and returned to you.

Can I bring my gold to Gold Smart in person?

Yes. We have a Gold Smart walk-in location in Auckland – making it easy for you to sell gold. Please contact us using the Contact Us Page and a representative will be in touch. Confidentiality and discretion is assured.

How do I send my old gold jewellery to you?

Simply complete the enquiry form and tick the box that says “Yes, send me a Gold Smart Courier Pack“. When you receive your pack, place your items and completed form into the courier bag and send it back to Gold Smart – it’s that simple!

When Gold Smart receives your Insured Courier Pack we will check the contents, test and weigh the gold. The price will then be confirmed with you and payment processed the same day. In the unlikely event that you do not wish to sell your gold, Gold Smart will send the items back to you the next business day.

What if I’m not sure my jewellery is real?

Our expertly trained staff will test your items to determine this.
